// I'm Xavier, a Staff Product Designer based in New York, working remotely across teams and time zones. At Peatix, I spend my time making the experience of going to live events feel as good as the events themselves. My obsession is design systems. Building the kind of foundations that make teams faster, more consistent, and honestly just less stressed. I've designed across a lot of disciplines over the years. Branding, illustration, instructional design, product. It means I bring a pretty wide lens to whatever I'm working on. I care a lot about the designers around me too. Mentoring is one of the parts of this job I'd do even if nobody asked. When I step away from the work, I'm probably playing guitar, planning my next trip, or getting completely lost in a story that moves me. Good design and good stories aren't that different. They both take you somewhere you didn't expect. What fills the tank I've been playing guitar since I was 12. It started as something to do and somewhere along the way became something I can't imagine not doing. There's a problem-solving quality to music that feels a lot like design, you're always chasing something that's almost right. A few years ago I cycled 600 miles across northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago. It was hard, beautiful, and one of the best decisions I've ever made. Japan is the other place that got under my skin. Both taught me that the best experiences, in travel and in design, reward the people willing to slow down and pay attention. Fantasy, adventure, anything that builds a world and pulls you into it. I love stories that make you forget you're sitting still. Honestly it's not that different from what I try to do with design, if someone's using something I built and they're not thinking about the interface, I did my job.
